Dit was weereens ‘n prima geleentheid op ons kalender wat deur die entoesiastiese samewerking van ons sosiale span onder leiding van Francis Nieuwoudt ‘n dawerende sukses was.   Daar was lekker genetwerk, geëet , gedans en ‘n positiewe gees van samehorigheid was vaardig!

Daar was ook oomblikke van insig in terme van die huidige werklikhede en uitdagings wat ons as sakekmanne en vroue daagliks in die gesig staar, vernuftig opgesom deur Dr Theuns Eloff, Voorsitter van Astral Foods en Hoof Uitvoerende Beampte van die FW de Klerk Stigting.  Dit het almal terdeë laat besef dat die huidige maatskaplike, ekonomiese en politieke klimaat in SA, en wėreldwyd, ons verplig om te besin oor die mate waartoe ons moet innoveer om effektief te kan oorleef.  Ons lede en Suid Afrikaners in die algemeen is egter veerkragtig genoeg om sulke struikelblokke te bestuur en besighede in Drakenstein is geen uitsondering nie en het nog altyd gepresteer ten spyte van negatiewe veranderlikes in ons omgewings.  Saam sal ons leer en groei uit gedeelde uitdagings om die stad Drakenstein ‘n beter plek vir almal te maak.

Dit was ook ons voorreg om oud lede te vereer met erelidmaatskap en hulle te trakteer met ‘n ete.  Hulle bly vir ons waardevol en ons as bestuur het onderneem om aan te hou bou op dit wat goed was uit die verlede deur inklusiewe leierskapsinisiatiewe in die plaaslike  gemeenskap.

Ons bedank ook weereens ons borge van heinde en verre (Potchefstroom!) wat bygedra het om van die byeenkoms ‘n sukses te maak.  Borge is van groot belang vir die sakekamer beweging plaaslik en wêreldwyd om langtermyn oorlewing te verseker asook om hoë standaarde in dienslewering te verseker.

Administratief -Ons beplan reeds die volgende byeenkomste waaronder nog ledebyeenkomste asook ons gewilde jaarlikse potjiekos en mini uitstalling.

Ons kantoor stuur binnekort fakture uit vir ledegelde vir 2017/18 en u word versoek om dit so gou moontlik te vereffen om ons instaat te stel om vol te hou met ons bestaande hoë kwaliteit waarde aanbod.

Webwerf – Lede wie se besighede nog nie op ons webwerf verskyn nie word aangemoedig om hul logos, kontakbesonderhede en ‘n beskrywing van hulle aktiwiteite op die webwerf te kry deur ‘n paar eenvoudige aksies uit te voer.  Dit kan gedoen word deur na ons webblad by  www.drakensteinsakekamer.co.za te gaan en op die “SLUIT AAN” bladsy u besonderhede elektronies op te laai waarna ons dit sal verwerk. Neem kennis dat u dan elektronies per e-pos van ‘n wagwoord en gebruikersnaam voorsien sal word nadat ons u data op die webwerf aangebring het.  Dit behoort nie langer as 7 dae te neem nie waarna u ‘n wagwoord elektronies sal ontvang sodat ander se lede se besonderhede tot u beskikking gestel kan word vir besigheid tot besigheid interaksie.   Lede kan vanaf 1 Julie advertensie spasie op die webwerf koop teen aantreklike tariewe.

Dear Members,

AGM and 70th Year Celebration – Once again this prime event on our calendar was highly successful due to our dedicated social team’s effort under the enthusiastic leadership of Francis Nieuwoudt. Our guests networked, wined and dined and danced in a good spirit throughout the evening. New connections were made and the Business Chamber’s vision and mission was also reinforced by the positivity that prevailed throughout the proceedings.

There were also a few sobering moments with factual  insights delivered to us by our keynote speaker, Dr Theuns Eloff Chair Person of Astral Foods and Chief Executive of the FW de Klerk Foundation. Through his insights it was realized that business leaders should innovate and adapt to contain the current global and South African social, political and economic challenges that face us.  South Africans are however resilient enough to adapt to these circumstances and the people of Drakenstein will be no exception as we have always risen to the occasion when faced with adverse conditions.  I am confident that we will all learn from these challenges and together make the city of Drakenstein a better place for all.

We also would like to commend our sponsors from across SA again for helping us to make this event a success.   Sponsors play an integral role in the continuity of the Business Chamber movement globally and locally, and also assist us to maintain high standards in our service delivery efforts.

Honorary Members – I was also our privilege to recognize our past members and leaders by presenting them with a certificate of honorary membership and inviting them to enjoy the evening with us.  We assured them that we will continue to build on things that were good in the past and that we will also continue raising the bar for service in terms of our value proposition to members and the community as a whole.

Administrative – We are already planning our next events which include Members Meetings, our Annual Mini Exhibition and the popular Potjiekos  Competition.

The office will be sending out invoices for membership fees for 2017/18 (for July until February) and you are requested to settle it at your earliest convenience to ensure we maintain the high quality of services delivered to our members.

Website – Members whose business details do not appear on the Chamber website yet can do so by carrying a few easy steps.  Please go to our website on www.drakensteinsakekamer.co.za and click on the “JOIN US” page and fill out the electronic application form which will capture your logo, business details and contact numbers.  We will then process the information within a week after which you will be able to ask for a password electronically on the home page of the website.  This will entitle you to view all members’ contact details for future business to business interaction.  Members will be able to buy advertising space on the website from 1 July at reasonable rates.
